1930 US Census - Clark Emery

Here is the 1930 US Census for Clark Emery, son of Sarah (Dwire) and David W Emery.

Clark was living in Ottumwa, Center township, Wapello county, Iowa with wife Ella (Clark) their daughter Alice and son-in-law, Harry Whitmore.

The other two children of Sarah and David Emery that were still living in 1930 were Bert and Georgia.  I had posted Bert's 1930 Census last year which can be viewed here.    I have not been able to locate the census for Georgia.

Benjamin, another son of Sarah and David, may have passed away between 1928 and the time the census was taken in 1930; I've not been able to locate death information or a 1930 Census for him.

Sarah (Dwire) Emery - obituary

Here is the obituary* of my great great great grandmother, Sarah Emery.

Sarah was born to Lacey and Ellis Dwire in Fulton County, Illinois on June 3, 1837.   Sarah married David W Emery sometime in 1853 or 1854, probably near Galva, Henry county, Illinois.   Because counties were not required to record vital information until after 1916, I've been unable to locate their marriage license.

1920 US Census - Elinor Emery

Here is the 1920 US Census for Elinor Emery.   Elinor had been married to Ben Emery, son of Sarah (Dwire) and David W Emery.

Elinor was living in San Antonio township, Los Angeles county, California.    San Antonio township was located approximately where downtown Los Angeles is located, though the township no longer exists.

Elinor and Ben were married in 1906 or 1907 and apparently had divorced prior to the 1920 US Census.
