Amelia's second husband, Lyman Standard had passed away February 5, 1865.   Amelia was living in West Jersey township, Stark County, Illinois with her children, Margaret, Lyman, Thomas, Jennie and Alva who was continued on the following page.

1860 US Census - Amelia (Emery) Standard

Here is the 1860 US Census for Olive (Jacobs) and Henry Emery's eldest child, Amelia Standard.

Amelia was living in Joshua township, Fulton County, Illinois with her second husband, Lyman Standard with Amelia's children from her first marriage to John P Standard (Lyman's brother), Evelyn, Olive, Mary, Lyman and Thomas.

Amelia (Emery) Standard and Lyman Standard - marriage

John Standard, the first husband of Olive (Jacobs) and Henry Emery's daughter, Amelia, passed away on October 23, 1856.    Amelia then married his brother, Lyman Standard on June 3, 1860 in Fulton County, Illinois.

*Lyman Standard obviously did not die in 1805 as the article indicates; it would have been between 1861 - 1869.

1850 US Census - Amelia (Emery) Standard

Olive (Butler) and Henry Emery's second child, Amelia (Emery) Standard and husband John were living in Joshua, Fulton county, Illinois with their two children Evelyn (the census taker transposed the 'n' and 'y' and spelled her name 'Evelany' - it is important to realize there are MANY errors in the census records) and Olive during the 1850 US Census.

The rest of Olive and Henry's children were included in the 1850 census previously posted.

Henry Emery and daughter Amelia - biography

Here is a short biography about my great great great great grandfather, Henry Emery and one of his daughters, Amelia (Emery) Standard.

This appeared in on page 99 of a book titled, "Documents And Biography Pertaining To The Settlement And Progress, Stark County, Illinois, Containing An Authentic Summary Of Records, Documents, Historical Works And Newspapers........Biography of Representative Men Of The Past and Present" by M. A. Leeson, 1887.

There is one discrepancy in that it indicates Henry moved to Henry county in 1857, though from yesterday's post regarding Henry's property in Weller township, he had purchased the land in 1852.  Unfortunately, the 1855 Illinois census for Henry county is missing.

It also states he was married to his first wife, Olive Jacobs in 1822, though the photo indicates he was married January 13, 1825.  Also, their first child Mary A Emery was born December 30, 1825.

In any event, it's interesting to have some additional information about Henry's life while living in Illinois.
