Alice Mabel Emery Holder Brown - passenger list

Here is the passenger list for Alice Mabel Emery Holder Mitchell Brown (the sister of my great grandfather, (Fred Owen Emery Daniels) traveling on the SS France, leaving from Le Havre, France on September 27, 1924 arriving at New York on October 3, 1924.

Mabel is listed at #13 and apparently traveled without her husband, Durland Wadsworth Brown.

More about the SS France which had its inaugural voyage on September 10, 1910 can be found here, which includes some interesting photographs and postcards.

Alice Mabel Emery Holder Brown passport application

Here is the passport application for Alice Mabel Emery, the sister my great grandfather Fred Owen Emery Daniels.

This document provided the first photo I had seen of Mabel as well as confirmation of her third marriage to Durland Wadsworth Brown on September 9, 1920.

On the second page, listed as a witness is her brother who confirms Mabel's husband had worked for Fred at his business, Terminal Garage.

I noticed a minor error; her birth date was listed as November 23, 1899, however both the birth document from Washington County, Iowa and her death certificate from Cook County, Illinois stated she was born November 27, 1899.

1920 US Census - Alice Mabel Emery Holder

I finally located the 1920 US Census for Alice Mabel Emery, the sister my great grandfather Fred Owen Emery Daniels.    Alice was using her first husband's name, "Holder" rather than her second husband's name of "Mitchell".

I know I have the correct census record because it the very next page following her brother, Fred Daniel's census record.    Both Fred and sister Alice were living on Leland Avenue in Chicago.   Also, the occupation matches the same as what was listed under her mother's census for 1920, that of a bookkeeper.

I still haven't located the 1910 or 1930 US Census for Alice Mabel Emery Holder Mitchell.
